Anastrozole (brand name: Arimidex) is a drug used in the treatment of breast cancer in post-menopausal women. Used in both adjuvant therapy (ie. following surgery) and in metastatic breast cancer. Anastrozole decreases the amount of oestrogen that the body makes.

Although formally intended for women, this drug has proven effective in the off-label use of reducing oestrogen (in particular, estradiol) in men.
